On Tuesday night I was invited to a very special event–a private viewing and discussion session with Canadian-Italian fashion designer Marisa Minicucci and her latest collection. The event took place in her beautiful Montréal studio and immediately I connected with the artful space. The walls were filled with inspiration boards and fabric swatches of soon-to-be creations. It was truly a unique behind-the-scenes look at the design process and the evolution of a garment.
Marisa Minicucci has been a successful figure in the fashion design world for quite some time now and for her latest collection she has teamed up with her daughter Anissa to create a line of ready-to-wear jackets. Marisa has always been known for her exceptional fit and tailoring and her recent venture certainly holds true. Each jacket has such impressive and thoughtful detail, the more you look, the more you discover. Whether it’s the small hints of leather around the collar or the touch of ethnic fabric around the inside pocket, each jacket in the collection possesses it’s own personality.
Expect to see the collection in stores and online Fall 2012. I am going to start saving my pennies now!
